Hi I'm Ron H

I'm a convert to the the church. A journey that started many years ago and finally ended in the correct place for me.

About Me

I am a retired from the telephone company after 37 1/2 yrs. Some good years, some not so good, but all in all pretty good. I have 6 children 4 of whom are members of the church. I was always looking for answers to the questions I had about where I came from, why am I here etc. The standard answer I always received was " You just have to have faith." So after many years of searching I gave up and hoped one day to find the answers.

Why I am a Mormon

My previous wife developed cancer and her mother phoned the church and the Relief Society Pres. visited us to see what our needs were and how they could help. Well the sister missionaries visited and eventually my wife at that time said she was going to ask for a Book of Mormon. So when I got home from work she showed me the book. I started to read it and new I had found the place to find the answers to my questions. The pieces seemed to fall into place. I have gained a testimony of this church and know beyond a shadow of doubt that it is the true church of Jesus Christ restored to the earth in these latter days. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I have a Heavenly Father and His Son is Jesus Christ, that they both live. I know that when I leave this earth exactly where I will go. I do not know what God will have me doing but I am sure it will be to build His Kingdom.

How I live my faith

Living as a Mormon can be a puzzle to those who do not belong to the church. Some people are not quite sure exactly what we believe. There is a point in your life when you just have to find answers to Gospel questions that are floating around in your head. Nothing short of digging for the answers is the quest. A quest that will take many roads in ones life. The question one has to ask oneself is will I follow where it leads no matter what. Will the answers shake my beliefs, probably. It did for me. When the answers start making sense and feel right then you will be free. The Savior tells us that the truth will set you free and He was absolutely correct. This Church is not a 24/7 religion and not one of convenience. By living what I have learned I have realized that I definitely have more freedom now than at any time in the past. When you wake up in the morning does it feel like you are not quite sure why you are here? In the years since my baptism, the feeling of peace in my life has been a great comfort. I now know why I am here, what I am supposed to do and why.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Ron H
The Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ. He did visit the other sheep he talks about in the New Testament and The Book of Mormon is that testament. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Ron H
NO, most definitely not. However it is a point in a young mans life that is a refining experience that can be had no other place. I have watched young boys go out and young men come back. The Lord has a very special way of showing them how to be better people. Show more Show less
