Hi I'm Dovy Paukstys

Hello. I am a husband, a father, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I was born to a family that didn't always see eye to eye. When I was very young my family split up and often I felt blamed. I live in an environment not always supportive of who I was, despite a loving mother's efforts. I was shunned in my younger schooling years and was extremely overweight. I didn't have many friends and I possessed what I would call negative confidence. Today I have the strength to believe in myself and protect my family, and I owe it all to my God. I would not be who I am without Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know that the church behind Mormonism is of God. I have seen his hand so directly in my life and felt him bear witness to me this religion. I had the opportunity to serve a mission to the people of Michigan. As I watched people's lives change I was touched. I know this religion can help you get nearer to God. Simply put the Mormon religion is one that states bring all you have which is good and let us see if we can add to it.

How I live my faith

I've had many opportunity to serve others. I've watch out for a couple going through a tough divorce, to teaching a group full of men about the scriptures. I've even had the opportunity to watch over a large group of young adults. I believe that living my faith is acting how God would have me act. If I can love my enemy, I believe I can overcome anything.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Dovy Paukstys
Many would find it hard to live. We don't drink. We don't smoke. We don't do any drugs. We don't even drink coffee. These things are all bad for your body and we believe our bodies are a gift from God and we should take care of it as best we can. On top of that we don't have multiple partners. I have been married to only one woman and I intend to keep it that way. I never had a partner before my wife and I never will have another. I wanted to keep myself for my future sweetheart and I am so glad I did. When you can truly give everything of who you are to your spouse, then you find your marriage transcends mortal life. I have never known such joy as I have in a relationship such as this. Simply put, I live my life for my wife, my family, and my faith. That is all I truly care about because that is all that matters. Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Dovy Paukstys
Actually we try to help anyone we can. I find myself helping people I don't know just as much as those I do know. Some of my best friends are of another faith. Show more Show less
