Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a wife, grad school student, and accountant. I love to read and play the piano, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In 2008 I returned from the Colorado Denver North Mission. Since then I've started grad school, found the love of my life and got married for time and all eternity. I'm an accountant, and have been my whole working career. It's something that I find enjoyable. I'm blessed with the talent of playing the piano and love to share that with anyone who will listen. If I find myself with free time, I tend to open a book, though sometimes computer games occupy my time. I've lived in Florida my entire life and I love it here. My family is close and we spend a lot of time together hanging out. One of my biggest hobbies is scrapbooking. It has become such a wonderful experience. I love being able to relive my life experiences through pictures. Life is fun and I'm enjoying it.

Why I am a Mormon

I consider it a blessing to have been raised a member of the Church, but I consider it a bigger blessing to have gained my own personal testimony. Sometimes I wish I could pinpoint a certain time in my life, or even my age, of when I gained my testimony, but for me it isn't that simple. My testimony has grown through different life experiences. One of those experiences came during high school. I attended a religious based high school. The religion was not Mormon, but my parents felt it was the right place for me to be. While attending things like Chapel and Bible class, I gained a testimony of the truth of the Church. I realized how grateful I am that we have a living Prophet to guide us. There were times during my high school experience that I spent on my knees, praying to know the truth and the Holy Ghost was always there to testify of what I knew was true. Another experience I had of gaining a testimony was on a family vacation to upstate New York. I had the privilege of spending time in the Sacred Grove, the place where Joseph Smith knelt and prayed to God. Never before had I felt the Spirit testify so strongly that the things I had been taught during my life about Joseph Smith were true. I'm a Mormon because I've gained a personal testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true and living Church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

In my short lifetime I've had the opportunity to serve in many different ways. I've worked with the youth, the children, and the Sisters of the church. Often these responsibilities can be time consuming and often draining. I've had plenty of friends ask me why it is that I would serve with seemingly no payment in return. I tell them I serve because it is a way to show my Father in Heaven that I love Him. I know that He will lift me up when while serving I become discouraged of overwhelmed. I also believe it is a way to share my testimony with others. I believe that serving is the greatest way to live my faith. I also try to be a good example to those around me so they can see the Light of Christ in my eyes. I hope that those around me can see a difference in me and will ask me about that difference.

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

In 2009, my husband and I were sealed in the Temple for time and all eternity. There as not at any time during our wedding that the words till death do you part were uttered. Often during my friends weddings, those words have brought a pinch of sadness to my heart. A marriage is full of so much love and hard work that has been developed over periods of time, I am grateful that I know that none of that will be lost. When a man and a women are married by the proper authority in the Temple, that marriage is sealed and will last into the eternities, so long as they are faithful. We will have the opportunity to spend eternity with that person whom we love. How awesome it is to know that all the work I will put into my marriage, and the love my husband and I have and will have for each other will be with us forever. I have a strong testimony of eternal marriage and eternal families. I have sat in the Temple, during my own sealing, as well as the sealings of my friends and family and have felt the Holy Spirit whisper to me that families are eternal and I will be with mine forever.
