Hi I'm Sarah

I'm not as skinny as I was when this picture was taken. I'm a social worker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I earned my B.A. in 2007 and have been a social worker since that time. I work with youth who are homeless or are "aging out" of foster care. I love what I do! I hope to go back to school in the near future and earn my MSW to become a licensed clinical social worker. I was married to my awesome husband in 2007. We were blessed to have the opportunity to be married in a Temple. We don't have any kids, but we look forward to the day that we can grow our family. We are especially excited to become foster parents. I like to hang out with friends and watch movies, make jewelry (it never looks great but it's a very relaxing hobby), play with my dog and 2 cats, and spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, but when I was a teenager I realized I needed to find out for myself if I believed in what the Church taught. I studied the scriptures as well as the works of Church leaders. I prayed and fasted. After a great deal of study, I felt that this is the Lord's church on the face of the Earth. One of my favorite things about this church is that we are lead by a prophet. It is so comforting to know that God is still speaking to us about things that we are dealing with now. The Bible is a great source of information about how we should live our lives, but I like knowing that there is a prophet on the Earth today. I know that the Thomas S. Monson (the prophet and the leader of the Mormon church) really is a prophet of God. We are so blessed to have him!

How I live my faith

I used to teach the youth at Church, but we recently moved. I'm looking forward to becoming involved in our new congregation! When I helped with the youth at Church, we met on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. Wednesdays were more for personal development and socializing for the youth. It was a LOT of fun. The week before I moved, we had an activity where we deep fried Oreos. On Sundays, the youth were taught about scriptures and how they can follow Christ in their lives. The youth program in the Mormon church is amazing! I was in the same program when I was growing up, and it has always been a blessing in my life.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

We believe in the Bible for the same reason that other Christians believe in the Bible- namely, we know it's the word of God. I have found that when I live my life according to what the Bible teaches me to do, I am happier. I am also blessed beyond belief- with health, love, and even temporal things like a place to live and employment. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

In our Lord, Jesus Christ. He is the only way that we can find happiness in this life, and salvation in the next. Show more Show less
