Hi I'm William Kenneth

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in a mining town in Utah.

About Me

I'm a Dad with five children, and a proud grandpa of twelve. I have spent much of my life hiking and backbacking in the mountains and deserts of the American West. My career was in public education. I also spent twenty years in the summer at an environmental education center teaching young people, and two summers guiding clients on a float trips on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. With a summer working for the National Park Service as an Interpretive Ranger, I certainly had a great career in many different educational venues.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church. It has been a great blessing for my family and brings a sense of peace and happiness to me. I sense the approval of my Heavenly Father as I try to live a Christlike life. I have accepted Jesus Christ and his grace brings me closer to Him as I try to keep my personal promises to Him to be the best person I can each day.

How I live my faith

I am involved in family history research and have a family pedigree of many thousands of ancestors. With my wife, we have been missionaries for the church to New Zealand, London, England, and Mandalay, Myanmar. We have been involved in teaching and helping many people both Mormons and those not of the church with finding their ancestors. We taught many adults English in Myanmar and we also assisted in the humanitarian effort in Mandalay to bring clean drinking water to many thousands of people in the highland jungles of Myanmar.

What is the Book of Mormon?

William Kenneth
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It contains the words of ancient prophets and God's dealings with men, just as the Bible does. It does not replace the Bible. It is not the Mormon Bible. We accept the Bible as God's Word as do all Christians. We also accept the Book of Mormon as God's Word to man. We believe it contains revelation and counsel that, if followed, will help us to make our way back to our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
