Hi I'm Troy

I'm a husband, a dad, a wana-be artist, a contractor, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For some reason I love to figure out how to do things like how to make cheese or how to put in a sprinkler system or how to code in HTML. I never really become an expert at these sorts of things but it is the creation that I love. I love the fact that I have the freedom and capability to create something that did not exist before. I guess that is the artsy side in me. I am a contractor by day. I love what I do. I think that it is always being presented with new problems to overcome and always learning new things. One day I will learn about some piece of mechanical equipment and the next day I will be negotiating with a city government. Far above all the things of my life are my wife and daughter. They are my life when it is all boiled down. Seriously the joy of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess from the outset I am Mormon because I was born into the faith. However, the Mormon faith is by its nature so encompassing of its followers life that it, in a way, forces you to truly evaluate it. And so I have. My beliefs which I have taken from the scriptures and doctrines of Christ are so fundamental to who I am, they are the lens through which I see the world.

How I live my faith

Here are some basics I believe that I am eternal. I have always lived and will never cease to exist. With this perspective what I do with my life here and now is even more significant. Now not all things are eternal. My laptop, my truck, my bank account will end - cease to exist. However, all the people I see everyday in my home, at my office, or on the street will live forever and my relationships with them are eternal. With this at the core of what I believe it becomes the lens I see the world through and as a result it effects how I act towards the people in my life.
