Hi I'm Suzy

I like to sleep and take naps. I enjoy trying new recipes. I've been married 3 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work full-time at a nearby college, doing secretarial work. Before work, I like to jog around the block because I sit a lot at work. After work, I often make dinner, wash dishes, but sometimes I don't. Sometimes I just read a book because I want to. Sometimes I play the flute or piccolo in a local orchestra. 4 months on a study abroad program in Jerusalem has helped to shape my perspective of others and the world I live in. I'd love to go spend more time among another people and culture. That day will come, one day! (just not today.)

Why I am a Mormon

When I do the things that are right, I feel a deep sense of satisfaction inside. This satisfaction - and knowledge that what I am doing is right - increases whenever I participate in formal church meetings or programs through the church, and also when I am studying the scriptures on my own. I have felt in my heart, many times, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored organization that Jesus Christ established when He was on the earth. It has not been a huge, thunder-and-lightning experience, such as Paul's on his way to Damascus. But rather, I have felt and come to know through the almost imperceptible whisperings of the Holy Spirit to my own spirit, that this is the truth. I feel so grateful that through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, I can repent and be forgiven of my mistakes and sins.

How I live my faith

I teach the children ages 3-11. We plan lessons and help them learn more about Jesus and His commandments. We also sing songs that are full of purity and true doctrine. The children are such a strength to me. I feel blessed to be around them each week. In some ways, I consider them my own children since my husband and I don't have any kids yet.
