Hi I'm Nathan

I'm a MORMON and LOVE IT!

About Me

In this time of fear, uncertainty, and confusion, I'm glad to have the gospel in my life to give me peace, hope, direction, eternal perspective, and a stronger attitude of gratitude. For the past 3 1/2 years I have been investigating cases involving abused and neglected children. I have seen some horrific things and have worked with children and families at the worst times in their lives. The example of Christ and his eternal plan has helped me throughout my career and my dealings with these families in crisis. It helps me show love to the children who have been hurt and also the individuals who harmed them. I am also grateful for eternal families and how my own family has been blessed by the gospel. Each day that I get to spend with them has been awesome and brings so much happiness into my life. The bonds we form with our family are so important to me and I can't wait to spend all eternity with my amazing family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I know the church is true. There have been so many times in my life where I could have left the church, because of things that I have seen or events that have happened in my life, but I always return to the times when I have knelt down and asked, in prayer, if the church is true and I am reminded of the peace and love that comes to me when I do this. A few years ago, I was called in late at night to assist the police with an investigation involving a newborn baby in the area I was living. In the end, I ended up taking the baby from the home. During the short 15 minute drive, I ended up stopping numerous times to check on "my little buddy". After taking the child to a safe location, I sat in my car and took some time to just sit and think. While sitting in my car, I got an overwhelming feeling which stated "if you can love a child so much that you have just met, think about how much I love you. I have known you for your whole life". At that moment, I learned two things: 1. I feel bad for my first child, because I am way too overprotective and 2. I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, who knows me individually, and who wants me to be happy.

How I live my faith

I like being happy. On my mission, I used to tell people that "To Be Mormon Is To Be Happy" or "Ser Mormon Es Ser Feliz". Despite all the crazy things that happen here on earth, I know that we are meant to be happy and that happiness is best obtained by following the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's amazing what obedience to commandments and faith in an all knowing and loving Heavenly Father can do to make the world a brighter, better place to live :)
