Hi I'm Rohna Lynn

About Me

I have worked for schools in some form or another for over 12 years. Currently I work in the front office of a K-8 grade school. I converted to the church in March of 2005 after having investigated the church independently for a year and a half. I have one daughter and one grandson. In my spare time I love to hike, fiddle with computers, go to the theater, and shop.

Why I am a Mormon

As stated above, I converted to this church in March of 2005. I converted from what was once known as a Baptist church, or background if you will. At the time I wasn't really searching or questioning my beliefs though there were things that I did question off and on in my mind. However, there wasn't any burning questions that ate at me, so to speak. So, one might ask..what made me decide to investigate this church? It started out fairly innocent enough. A man that I worked with revealed to me, several months after we met that he was Mormon. I was surprised and with that knowledge I started making statements about what I was told and read that he believed. Each time I would make a statement, he would tell me either that what I was told or read wasn't true.....or he would tell me that it is in the Bible. Determined to prove this man wrong, I would search the Bible and instead of proving him wrong, I would be proven wrong. Eventually, my search would go beyond his statements. I read everything, and I mean everything I could get my hands/eyes on, both online and in books etc. I read both the negative and positive things, and one thing became very clear to me whch was that this church speaks the truth and is more consistently than any other church. I found that the plan of salvation which is explained through all of LDS Doctrine is more logical then any other belief. I say LDS Doctrine but in truth it is Heavenly Fathers plan of salvation.

How I live my faith

My callings has been as a primary sunday school teacher, visiting teacher supervisor and singles. I also participate every year in our volleyball sports!

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Rohna Lynn
When I read or hear similar questions such as these I want to laugh. To me a question like this is akin to asking for more responsiblity, more accountablity, more work, more angish etc. The truth is this is a responsiblity that closely mirriors Heavenly Fathers and Jesus Christ expectations of the husbands role at home. Women do very much lead in the church, they can be found in just about every leadership role in the church whether it is the womans Relief Society Presidency, or teaching Sunday School. I guess my question would be, why would a woman want to hold the priesthood? Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Rohna Lynn
I never dreamed that I could actually receive revelations through the Holy Ghost. In fact before converting, when I would hear people talk about receiving revelation through the Holy Ghost I thought they were hoky, or crazy. Now, with prayer, some times fasting, and a question burning in my mind I have been blessed to receive not only revelation but a ton of testimony regarding LDS Doctrine. Show more Show less
