Hi I'm Janeya Joy H.

I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

About Me

I am, first and foremost, a wife and mother. And those roles are what bring me the most joy in life. My daughter was born in June 2011 and I'm still figuring out exactly what it means to be a full-time homemaker. I also serve as a Cub Scout Den leader - so much fun! I love to read, write, sing, play music, watch movies, go on walks, and play with my pet snake, Jasper. I recently graduated from college with a degree in Linguistic Anthropology. As a result, I love learning about new cultures and I'm a bit of a grammar fanatic. I work from home grading English papers and doing freelance editorial work.

Why I am a Mormon

In a nutshell, because it's the truth. Jesus Christ is the ultimate source of peace, joy, strength and comfort; and I know that this is His Church. How do I know? 1. Prayer 2. Years and years of seeing the results of living as a member of the church

How I live my faith

I have the pleasure of serving as a Cub Scout Wolf den leader. I was terrified when I first got the calling (only about 1 month after my baby was born and NO experience with scouting), but now I am really loving it.

What is the Relief Society?

Janeya Joy H.
The Relief Society is fantastic!!! It's one of my favorite things about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Women meet together every Sunday, as well as at other times throughout the month and year. We teach each other the gospel, as well as skills like cooking, exercise, creative writing, art, dance, and so much more. It is a sisterhood of "extended family" and friends who care about each other and help one another. Each Relief Society that I've attended (as I've moved from one Ward to another), has immediately felt like home to me. The women are welcoming and loving. I am so proud to be a member of an organization that upholds the virtues of womanhood, the joys of motherhood, and the importance of charity. I know that I am the woman I am today in large part because of the righteous influence of Relief Society and the women that I have come to love and emulate there. Show more Show less
