Hi I'm Devin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the midwest. I recently graduated from college. I currently work as a software developer for a financial firm. I thrive on learning and solving problems. I love to cook and study foreign languages.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon faith. I was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the age of eight. Both my parents taught me the restored gospel through their words and their actions. Unfortunately, I was slow to heed their counsel and was, in fact, quite rebellious. Although I was baptized when I was eight, it took me several years before I was truly converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ. It wasn't until my late teens that I gained my testimony of the truthfulness of the LDS faith. I had the blessing of having wholesome, righteous friends that were diligent in keeping God's commandments. I would say that they were my biggest motivators in developing my own testimony. After observing the happiness my friends enjoyed from living the gospel standards, I decided to be more diligent in my gospel living. I started being more sincere in my prayers and reading my scriptures more diligently. Pretty soon, I noticed a change in myself. My attitude and understanding about God and the life I live changed. My longing to know and understand my Heavenly Father's plan for me increased. Then, bit by bit, my testimony grew. I came to know for myself that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that he, through the Prophet Joseph Smith, restored his church here upon the earth. As I have I continued to study and apply gospel teachings, my testimony has continued to grow. My life has been greatly blessed from living the commandments God has set forth. I am grateful and proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I teach gospel doctrine during Sunday school at church. I love teaching the gospel because I feel I learn so much more about the gospel from the questions and discussions that class members provide.
