Hi I'm Toiya

I grew up in Nevada. I love to watch the desert sun rise and set each day. I choose to be happy. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to read all that I can from the very best books! I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a neighbor, a stranger, and a friend. My favorite vacation EVER occurs every time my husband and I can escape for a moment to the hammock swing in our backyard. It is tied between two beautiful tall trees that grow alongside the little swing set where our children play. Add a gentle breeze...and life just can not get any better than that!

Why I am a Mormon

I have learned what it means to put my trust in the Lord. I have come to understand that God truly loves me and cares for me and wishes to bless me. I try hard every day to keep His commandments and to desire and do the things that He would have me do. When I keep the commandments of God and put my faith in Him, I am blessed with divine guidance, comfort, and peace. I also feel a deep and abiding joy. This happiness gives me the confidence to continue to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that His strength can help me to overcome every difficulty I face.

How I live my faith

I have learned that it helps to remember that every person I see is a cherished and beloved child of God. I try to remember this in all of my dealings with those around me. This knowledge makes it easy for me to love my family, my neighbors, and my friends. This understanding gives me the courage also to reach out to strangers because I believe that everyone, everywhere has a belonging place in the family of God.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

We believe that when we die our spirits return to the God that gave us life. We believe that because of the Atonement, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ that all who die will live again. Because of this knowledge I do not fear death. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that it is by grace that we are saved--after all that we can do. Grace is an enabling power. We are to strive to do our best to keep the commandments of God. We know that we are to be accountable for the things we do in this life. We desire to do what is right, to help others, and to serve God. We have faith in God. We keep His commandments. We do all that we can do to live a righteous life. We do the things that He would have us do. We love Him with all of our heart, might, mind, and strength. We offer all that we have to give. However, we recognize that our strength alone is not enough. We need Him. His strength is sufficient. He is mighty to save. This is why we can trust Him. Show more Show less
