Hi I'm Lisa

I have 5 sons, 4 daughter-in-laws, 6 grandchildren, and a husband that I love. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a mother, grandmother and wife. For 16 years I worked as an RN in the NICU. As my children became teenagers, I realized that they needed me more than I needed to work. I quit my job and came home. It has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life. My husband was and is supportive in my decision to come home. Each of my children has expressed gratitude that I was home during their difficult teenage years. Now that my children are grown, I have found joy in teaching immigrants English each week. This has been a wonderful experience! I also love taking Zumba classes at my local gym. My favorite past time has to be spending time with my grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I find peace when I live my religion. It is a road map for me through this difficult life. There is light along the path that helps me make good choices and keeps me close to the Savior. I feel His love for me always. I am not perfect but I know He loves me in spite of my weaknesses. I have a testimony that Joseph Smith was a prophet, the Book of Mormon is true and Jesus is the Christ. There is a living prophet on the earth today. President Thomas S. Monson. Why would God have prophets in times past but not today? He has always had prophets to help His children here below know His will, and how to find their way home to Him.

How I live my faith

My husband and I work with the young single adults in the Church. These are men and women between the ages of 18-30. Being with them helps us stay young! Together we teach a marriage and family relations class to those young adults who are engaged. Since we have been married 33 years, we have lots of experiences-good and bad- to share. Along with our experiences we have a book that has quotes from Church leaders that we include in our lessons. It is a privilege to serve and brings joy to us.
