Hi I'm Travis

I am a loving husband and father of two wonderful twin boys. I believe in and follow Jesus Christ.

About Me

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I served as a missionary for 2 wonderful years in Brasília, Brazil. I studied Accounting and Portuguese at BYU and was also a member of the BYU Diving team. I work as a research consultant at a software company. I am married to the most amazing woman I've ever met and my best friend. Together we are the proud parents of two adorable twin boys - Harvey and Hudson. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and we strive to live the teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that I am a child of God and that He has a plan for me. I know that His Son, Jesus Christ, is the Savior of the world. I also know that by living His true Gospel I will be able to achieve peace and happiness in this life and eternal salvation in the life after this. I have come to know for myself (through divine answers to my earnest prayers) that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith was called of God to help restore Christ's true church on the earth, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that church. I know that the Church's teachings come from God. I testify that when I live the gospel by keeping God's commandments and following his counsel, I find real, meaningful happiness and fulfillment. I share this testimony with the world, because, like Paul, "...I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes..." (Romans 1:16).

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be better each day. I know that I have a long way to go to reach my potential, but I am committed to becoming the type of person that God knows I can be and wants me to be. I strive daily to apply and "live" the principles of the gospel that I learn in church and through personal study and various other spiritual experiences. These principles include: Benevolent service, Self-Control and Worthiness, Charity and Love, Integrity, and Virtue, along with many others. When I am successful in my efforts, I feel that God is pleased with me. This motivates me to do all I can to live as Christ lived and make continuous efforts to improve myself.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Travis
God is the source of all truth. He loves you and wants to answer your questions. He will help you recognize the truth as you sincerely seek it and ask Him for guidance. You can come to know as I now know that what you’ve been learning is true (see James 1:5-6; Book of Mormon, Moroni 10:4-5). The Lord loves you and has brought you here to help you learn these things that will be of eternal importance to you and will help you find true and lasting happiness. He wants to do all he can to help you know the truth for yourself. All you have to do is: 1) Sincerely pray to your Heavenly Father. Ask Him if what you are learning is true. 2) Continue to study and give thoughtful consideration to what you are learning. 3) Listen with your heart for the sweet feelings of inspiration from the Holy Ghost, who will to whisper the truth to your spirit and mind. 4) Follow God’s commandments so you can feel the influence of the Holy Ghost. You may have experienced feelings of peace, hope, comfort, or happiness as you’ve read. If so, you have already felt the Holy Ghost telling you that these things are true. Recognize that these feelings come from a loving God. Continue to seek these feelings by living the principles you are learning and God will continue to confirm the truth of them to you through the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
