Hi I'm Harold J.

I'm happily married to the beautiful Staci Joan and have 6 wonderful children. My greatest joy is just to be with my family.

About Me

I am happily married to the beautiful Staci Madsen and we are the proud parents of 6 wonderful children. Our oldest 3 children are married and have given us 4 adorable grandchildren. We are so pleased with their choice of spouse and love them and grateful for the way they treat our daughters. The next 3 children are boys (my wife is very organized) and they are very active in football, basketball, soccer, choirs and student council. Our oldest son is on a mission in Russia and serving with all his heart. Our 2nd son just completed his senior year in High School, got hip surgery for his hip displacia (has recovered) and has just submitted his papers to also serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. Our 3rd son is about to enter high school. He very good at basketball is trying out for the high school team. Besides family, I'm dedicated to my career at Ancestry.com. I'm a senior manager of 3 development teams at Ancestry. Besides having a great product it's a great place to work. What do I do in my spare time? Serve in my church calling (scouts), hike the gorgeous Utah mountains (I've hiked 7 local peaks) and read my books (currently World Crisis by Winston Churchill.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I am a follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am so grateful that the gospel in its purity has been restored to the earth again through a living prophet. Imagine how awesome it would be to live at a time when Moses or Enoch or Elijah were on the earth? How amazing would it be to live at the time of the Apostles at the meridian of time? Those days of joy are again on the earth. That's right! We have a living prophet and apostles on the earth today. The best part is that you don't have to trust my opinion. You can learn about this restored gospel then kneel and pray and God will answer your sincere prayer. I went through the same process as a youth. I read the Bible and Book of Mormon, attended church and asked questions. Then, kneeling in fervent prayer, over a period of several weeks, I received an answer to my prayers. We have a loving Heavenly Father and knows you and he knows me. As you prepare to speak to him spirit to spirit he will lovingly answer your prayers and give you guidance and comfort in your daily life. This and many other reasons are why I'm a mormon. If you would like to learn more simply invite the mormon missionaries to your home and let them answer your questions. You can receive the joy I and my family have.

How I live my faith

I volunteer several hours each week to help our local Scout unit (this is part of my church service). These 12 and 13 year old boys are a lot of fun. We teach merit badges, go on hikes, go on overnight campouts etc. This age group can be a handful but they are good boys and I usually end up laughing at their antics and just enjoying them.
