Hi I'm Ryan

I'm a husband/father. I feel life is a gift and not a right. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 24 year old student, father, and husband. My wife and I have been married for 18 months and we have the cutest baby boy. I love watching/playing basketball, racquetball, football, and slow pitch softball. I also enjoy hiking, surfing, and camping with my wife and son. I've lived on both coasts, and love to visit both when I have the time.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the LDS church. I always knew it to be true because of the experiences that I had from being in the Hill Cumorah Pageant, and spending time with my family. Just like everyone else I never knew until I prayed and asked God. I was 18 years old when I thought it was time to really find out if this is the true church. I was thinking about two options; going to college or going on a mission. I knew that I wanted to make sure this church was true before I dedicated two years to it. I fasted, read the Book of Mormon and prayed for a couple of weeks until I received my answer. My answer came from a visit to the Hill Cumorah visitor's center. I was watching videos that the LDS church published to answer simple questions (kinda like this web site), As I selected a video that portrayed the Salt Lake Temple I heard a voice that told me: "Ryan, you need to be married in a temple with your wife for eternity." I was taken back by this and pondered what the voice said for a couple of minutes. I then decided that if it happened once it will happen again. I then watched the same video and had the same experience. It did not take long for me to realize that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints really is the Lord's church restored for his children in the last days. I knew it to be true then and I still know it to be true now. My advice is clear and simple. If you want to know the truth read the Book of Mormon for yourself and then pray and ask God. He will answer your prayers and guide you to His church, so that you can once again return to live with him. Our Father in heaven loves us and wants us to be happy, but he will only guides us when we listen to him. I know we can all follow his teachings so that we will be able to once again live with him and our families together in heaven.

How I live my faith

I am a Ward Mission Leader (over see the missionary work for the congregation that I live in), and try to serve in the Provo temple as much as possible. My wife and I also love to spend time with the great friends that we have made in the congregation. I also volunteer as an assistant coach for Provo middle school football. I am also continuing my education as I finish up a degree is biology and hopefully go to medical school. My wife and I also try to serve our neighbors and community as much as we can but our time is a little manipulated by our 4 month old son.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

We teach the same doctrine that Christ exemplified when he lived here on the Earth. That a man/woman must be baptized by immersion by one holding the Priesthood of Christ. Any other baptisms not performed by the Priesthood of Christ will be voided. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

We believe what all Christians believe that there is life after death. We know that is is only through the atonement of Jesus Christ that we will be saved and inherit a place in the kingdom of God. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

They will try to teach you some of the doctrine of our church relating to the restoration of the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This message is special because it is a message about how God loves us, and that he has again called a prophet to lead us and guide us. The message also is focused on our savior Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice. The missionaries will also love to answer any questions that you have in regards to our church, and the rumors that you might have heard. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?
