Hi I'm Rachel.

I'm an amateur everything and a full-time mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy spending time with my husband and our baby boy. We like to sing, hike, mountain bike, and play basketball. I also like to take pictures, blog, cook, and write. I've spent most of my life in Utah with the exception of a couple years in Italy and Spain. I value the perspective that other cultures teach me.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, society taught me that my value was based on appearance, acceptance of others and possessions. I realized that focusing on those things didn't bring me happiness but emptiness. Principles of the the gospel resonated in my soul as I learned them. I learned to respect myself and those around me. I learned that my value as a person came from who I AM- and that is literally, a daughter of God. I learned that because I am a daughter of God I have infinite worth. I especially appreciate the principles laid out by modern day prophets and apostles that empowered me to be to be virtuous: modesty in dress and in language, not dating before the age of 16, listening to uplifting music and abstinence from alcohol and drugs. These things protected me from a lot of heart ache and sorrow. They also allowed me to develop healthy and lasting relationships. I thank my Father in Heaven for the love that he has shown towards me by calling a prophet to counsel us and warn us of the dangers all around us. Everything I've learned in the church has helped me to be a better wife, mother, daughter, and contributor to society.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving and serving others and by striving to keep the commandments.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?
