Hi I'm Tyler Cooper

I am a college student studying History, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California, and I am at college studying History. I enjoy watching and playing sports (but my passion is baseball). I love being outdoors, reading, watching movies, and pretty much just about anything else. Even with the fact that I was born with a birth defect called Spina Bifida, which makes a lot of physically demanding activities quite difficult, I absolutely love life, and try to live it to the fullest, which also includes my love of being with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents were raised in the church, and so that meant that I would be too. I have always been told of the truthfulness of the church, and I have always striven to follow the commandments that the Lord has given us. As I have grown up and learned how to learn things and come to know things for myself I have come to my own conclusions that this really is the true gospel of Jesus Christ in it's fullness, and because of that I have striven harder and harder every day to do those things that the Lord has asked me to do better than I did the day before.

How I live my faith

By striving to live the teachings, and put them to action, not just categorizing them in my head as pieces of knowledge. I work to be a good example to everybody around me, and I also love taking opportunities to tell or explain to people that I am a member of this church.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Tyler Cooper
Jesus Christ set up His church while he was here on the earth, and can read about in the New Testament. But the church was eventually lost from the earth, and in the spring of 1820, God the Father, and His son, Jesus Christ appeared to a boy named Joseph Smith, who was praying and asking about which church he should join. Joseph was chosen by God to restore the Church of Jesus Christ that Jesus had set up on the earth when had lived on the earth. Joseph was called to be a prophet just like Moses and Noah from the Bible, which means that we still have living prophets on the earth to guide Christ's restored church or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Tyler Cooper
Because some people just don't understand our church and what it is we believe, and so they hear things from other people that are not true and because of of the mis-information that they hear, they label us a cult. Show more Show less
