Hi I'm Jonathan

I'm from Texas. I love my family. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm Elder Mortensen, serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a Son, Brother, and Uncle. I love sports of all kinds. Grew up playing basketball and baseball, but moved my way into Golf. I absolutely love the game!!! It is peaceful, beautiful scenery, and requires alot of creative skill. I am a college student when I am not serving the Lord. Hope to one day be an eye doctor like my older brother.

Why I am a Mormon

Well like most I grew up in the Church. My parents as well, and we all did things together. I was involved in the Church Programs like the Scouting Program, and the Young Mens Program. Both of which have an influential part of my lfe. With great Leader by my side I was able to accomplish many difficult tasks. I am a Mormon because I know the Gospel is true. I have seen the changes that have come about in my lifetime, and I know that I am living my life the way that My Heavenly Father would have me live. I love my family, and the blessings of living with them for Eternity are great. I know of God's Great Plan of Happiness, and it is not just for me, but for all of His children.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to love everyone around me. Charity Never Faileth, and I know of that surety. Christ taught to "Love the Lord thy God...and the Second is like unto it." I try to be Christlike in all that I do, that I might be the disciple of Christ that I know I should be.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Jonathan
"We believe in God the Eternal Father, and in HIs Son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost"(1st Article of Faith). We believe that God is the Father of our spirits, and that we were created in His image as written in the Book of Genesis. We believe that he has a body of flesh and bone, as tangible as man's, the Son also. We believe that God has a voice, and that he speaks, wherein he spoke to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. He has a face and physical presence. Moses said he talked to God face to face, as a man talketh with his friend. And we believe that God is a glorified and perfect being as witnessed by the Prophet Joseph Smith when in the Sacred Grove as he knelt in prayer. We can all know of these things as we "Seek to Know God the Eternal Father..." through humble prayer. Show more Show less
