Hi I'm Scott

I grew up in Salt Lake City. Now I call Chicago home. I'm a father, a consultant, a White Sox fan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I went to college to be an accountant, but ended up going to grad school and becoming a consultant. Some day I hope to start my own business. I happily married with three beautiful kids. My hobbies are watching baseball and playing Ultimate Frisbee.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been been Mormon since the mid-19th Century. However, I personally did not practice the faith actively until I was 16 years old. Around this time my mother was recovering from a serious illness and after that we made the choice together to more actively participate. Shortly thereafter I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. This experience brought me closer to Christ and helped me experience real and direct answers to my prayers for the first time in my life. I love the Savior and feel being a Mormon brings me close to Him.

How I live my faith

My faith is a big part of my life. Our family reads and sings together each morning. My wife teaches Sunday School to new members of our church. I work with the missionaries in our ward to teach those interested in learning more. I am also responsible to visit 4 families from our congregation each month to share a message and check on their spiritual and temporal needs.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

I think this is really just a lack of understanding of our true practices and beliefs. I've never heard this from those that personally know me or have had some experience with our faith. Show more Show less
