Hi I'm Nadine

About Me

I've been happily married for 32 years and have 4 daughters and one son, who unfortunately died at childbirth. But, I know I will see him again and will raise him after this life. That's one of the great things about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have a Masters of Music, in organ performance, but I've never played the Tabernacle organ. (Sigh) I have lived in this town for 31 years, where my husband is a teacher at the local high school.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it is the only true church on the earth. I could go on about the wonderful programs the church has, but the Church of Jesus Christ is Christ's church. I don't have "a" conversion story as such, as my testimony has been building all my life. I have wonderful parents who taught me about the gospel, and I have read the scriptures and prayed about my testimony often. My husband and children have helped build my testimony, too. I'm a very logical person, and I can give logical reasons as to why the earth needed Joseph Smith, and why the LDS church is true, but those aren't the reasons why I love the LDS church. I love the LDS church because it teaches the gospel of Jesus Christ, as Jesus Christ wants it to be taught. There are prophets on the earth today who have the authority of Jesus Christ, and they are only found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I'm currently the pianist in our children's group, the Primary. I enjoy sharing my talents very much. I've been a teacher for both the adult's Sunday School, and the women's organization, the Relief Society. I love Visiting Teaching, where I meet with a partner each month and visit several women in our ward. I've become close to each of these women and have grown in my testimony through these visits.

What is the difference between attending a Mormon Church and a Mormon Temple?

"Church" is held weekly on Sunday at a local meeting house. We worship God and partake of the Sacrament, the emblems of Jesus Christ's death, in Sacrament meeting. We study and learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ in our other meetings. People attending our weekly meetings do not need to be even members of the church to attend. On the other hand, our temples are especially sacred places, where one must be members of the Church in good standing to attend. This means we need to sustain our leaders, pay our tithing, and obey all the commandments of God to be able to attend the temple. In the temple we make sacred covenants with God. We receive knowledge we need to return to live with God after this life. We also can be sealed when we are married to our spouse eternally. We are then also sealed to our families forever. If a couple wasn't married in the temple originally, they have the opportunity to be sealed when they are ready. Nothing done in the temple is contrary to teachings in the Bible. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we honor Joseph Smith because he restored the gospel of Jesus Christ, which was not on the earth at the time. We worship our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
