Hi I'm Aaron Egbert Allsop

My name is Aaron Egbert Allsop and I am a student, an aspiring filmmaker, and a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Wisconsin and lived there until I was 19. The thing that I enjoyed the most about Wisconsin was all of the natural beauty that surrounded me. There were so many lakes and rivers that I could go swimming in during the summer. Growing up I enjoyed entertaining people and telling stories so I was drawn to preforming in plays and joining improv groups. I also really enjoyed making skateboarding videos with my friends. Those two interests eventually merged into one - filmmaking. After graduating from high school I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Honduras. There I learned to speak Spanish, how to serve selflessly, and how much joy the Gospel brings to people. I had always had the Gospel in my life but it wasn't until sharing it with others I realized how much hope it brings to people. After I returned home I started school at BYU-Idaho studying Communication with an emphasis in digital filmmaking. While going to school I started working at video marketing companies and learned a lot about digital filmmaking. My goal in life is to be able to make films that entertain people and share a message that helps people become the best that they can be. I also hope that the films that I make can make a difference in people's lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found that when I follow the commandments of the Lord I am happy (even during tough moments in life), receive blessings, and feel the Lord's love. I have found that when I do not follow the commandments I feel complacent, apathetic towards life, and that I don't have a purpose in anything that I do along with finding it hard to find happiness in anything. I want to be happy. I want to receive blessings. I want to feel the Lord's love. For that reason I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my life by trying to become a better person each day. I know that we all can be perfected in Christ through his grace but only if we submit our wills to the Lord and follow his commandments. Each day I try to become better that I was the day before. I know that sometimes I mess up but I know that if I continue to press forward the Lord will forgive me and help me become the man that He wants me to be.
