Hi I'm Simon

I love our 7 wonderful children, I love helping managers to be leaders, I love playing volleyball and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I feel very blessed to have 7 children, 6 daughters and 1 son. I love spending time with my wife and children and our extended family. One of our daughters died when she was born and she still has a very special place in our family. I am the Managing Director of a Management Training company with clients across the globe; I thoroughly enjoy developing leaders from a huge variety of cultures. I enjoy playing team sports, particularly volleyball - it's really nice when I get to play along side my brothers. I love the opportunity I have to help others through my voluntary service within the Church, and in the community as a primary school governor.

Why I am a Mormon

I love Jesus Christ - my family and I have been so blessed by the redeeming and enabling power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I feel a real peace and happiness when I do the Lord's will and I know He helps me to be a better person. A very significant time in our life was when one of our daughters was stillborn. I have never felt so powerless as at that time; it was heartbreaking for all of us. I remember going home to our five other daughters and after crying together we knelt in prayer and asked for God's help. We immediately felt a wonderful spiritual strength envelop our family, a sense of peace and calmness that was beyond my natural strength to draw upon. In 1992, my wife and I were married and sealed together in the London temple; and so we have the opportunity to be together forever as a family after this life. Losing our daughter brought this knowledge to a whole new level of understanding and is a source of huge hope and strength in our family today. I know God lives, he is our heavenly father and that he loves all of us. I know Jesus Christ lives and His atoning sacrifice and grace allows us to be forgiven. I love the strength that reading the scriptures gives me to be a better husband, father and person; the Bible and the Book of Mormon contain the words of God. I know life will have challenges and trials and I have learned that through these we are never alone. I feel very blessed and happy to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

My faith is a fundamental part of my life and a key part of who we are as a family. Starting in our home we strive to follow Jesus; my wife and I work very hard to create a home that is happy and fun and where the children enjoy being with us and each other. We dedicate Monday night as our family night, where we study & have fun together and always finish with some tasty treats We've found family prayer and scripture study to be a really helpful way of uniting and bringing our family together every day. As a member of the church I currently have a leadership position where I help to oversee 8 congregations in 7 different towns in East Anglia. I help strengthen others' faith in Christ; and help those in need. I often feel inadequate for the responsibility but always reassured by God's Spirit and it is wonderful to be a witness to the miracles that occur in peoples' lives.
