Hi I'm Skyler
I grew up in Southern California. My family converted when I was a child. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
Having grown up in southern California I would label myself as a beach loving surfer bum at heart. My education and hobbies have since evolved to include computer security, physical fitness and reading. My wife and I have since moved to the east coast where I serve as an officer in the US military.
Why I am a Mormon
Life is full of experiences, both good and bad; each serves as an opportunities to learn. Whether it be from studies, relationships, travel, etc., everything I have learned has formed my perception of the world and myself in some way. However, my experiences with God have shaped me more drastically than any other. I have witnessed internal struggles, which had persisted through my own best efforts of remediation, be miraculously transformed into strengths. My perception of others has cleared to see the true value of each soul; with the limitless potential and worth God has bestowed upon us. Through Christ I have been made whole, strong and happy. Life now has unimaginable purpose and eternity is clear. Why am I Mormon? Because it makes me happy, brings meaning to my life, and has strengthened my relationship with Christ.
How I live my faith
Being Mormon is fun. With such a strong community wherever I go, I have never felt far from friends and family. I have been fortunate enough to work with the youth and to share in their excitement for life and their energetic faith. I have also been a sunday school teacher for some of the younger children; teaching them some of the most basic and precious truths about God. Additionally, I was blessed to serve as a missionary for two years where I labored to uplift the downtrodden and to preach the good news of the Gospel to those looking for answers to life's greatest questions.
