Hi I'm Charity Angel

I'm a wife, a mother of 4, a Singer, an Author, and a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing, dance, draw, garden, and read about people, places and cultures. I also love religious studies and the basic principles of liberty. I have written thousands of articles that have been published online as a ghostwriter. I independently released a CD project called "Only Prayers Away'. I am a goal oriented person, and I am always pursuing something! I am currently a college Instructor for a pilot program for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. I am helping them be more prepared for the workforce. I also am a full-time student. I have held many callings in the church, but right now, I am enjoying being a counselor in the Young Women Presidency.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this is the true and living church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I know it because I have read all the scriptures that I can and I have prayed to God and asked Him if it is and the Holy Ghost confirmed that to me, many years ago. I am continually grateful for the many blessings, and promptings that I continue to have that build upon that foundation and strengthen my testimony more everyday. I first read The Book of Mormon and prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet when I was 14. I knew that the church was good, and that the fruits were good, but I wanted to know for myself about this young man and if he had been called as Moses, Samuel or others had been for our day. I will never forget the spirit that I felt as I knelt beside my bed and prayed to know if he was a prophet, and if the Book of Mormon was true. I continue to follow the teachings of the prophets and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, because it brings joy to my life, and during times of trial and adversity, the Lord makes Himself constantly known to me. He has never ever left me without comfort, and without guidance, He has always been there. I love the Gospel, and all the ways that it helps me to progress and improve my life and the lives of others.

How I live my faith

My faith is part of my life, it is a part of me; I live it everyday. I love to post a positive thought as well as one thing that I am grateful for everyday on my facebook page. I have held many positions in the church from music director to primary teacher, and many others as well. I love to work with children and the youth, especially when I teach them about Jesus Christ and the importance that He should have in our lives. We cannot do it alone, we all need him!

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Charity Angel
Christ has always taught that we love the sinner but abhor the sin. While homosexual behavior is not keeping with the standard of morality that Christ has set that we are to live chaste lives and to only have a physical sexual relationship with our legally wedded spouse, there is still love and support for those who struggle with this sin, as there is for any other. Marriage is a sacred union between a man, a woman, and God. Its purpose is to continue the human family, so that we can learn, grown and progress towards our Father in Heaven. Any other combination other than what God has ordained, does not fulfill the purpose of multiplying and replenishing the earth, and actually can lead to the destruction of the family, which is the central unit of society, and must be protected from the adversary. Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Charity Angel
Our bodies are a gift from our Father in Heaven. They were created in His image. It is the only mortal body that we will receive and so it is important that we take care of it. Because our bodies are such great gifts, we do not want to purposely disfigure, or damage them. Our bodies are called temples of God in the Bible, because when we have the Holy Ghost with us, he can dwell within us. Also our own spirits are created by our Heavenly Father, and we are part of Him in that way. Our bodies literally house the spiritual offspring of God. In the Bible, Christ tells us that he has been able to inherit all that the Father has, and that we too are joint-heirs with him. We have the potential to also inherit all that the Father has, to become like Him. Show more Show less

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Charity Angel
The tithing that we pay goes to maintain the chapels that we gather together in for church and other activities. We do not have a paid ministry, everyone serves on a volunteer basis, from the door greeter, to the bishop to the members of the choir. Tithing is strictly for the operational costs of the church. How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Charity Angel
The very first step is education. We can educate ourselves and our families about all the ways that we can protect ourselves and them from the onslaught of this dark, addictive influence. We also can choose to only watch and purchase media that is good, praiseworthy and uplifting, which helps to curb the demand for it. Additionally, we can put filters on our computers, and monitor all media within our homes, the television, magazines etc. The best way is to never ever get involved with its addictive influence, but if you do, know that there are many programs within and without the church that can help an addicted family member, as well as for those who are affected by their loved one's addiction. Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Charity Angel
In the New Testament, Christ taught that a man must be born of water and of the spirit in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. During the lifetime of the earth, not all have had the opportunity to hear and accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the perfect plan of a loving Heavenly Father, that we are able to be baptized for our family members that have died. That way, should they choose to accept the gospel as they are taught it on the other side, their work will have been done here so that they can enter into His kingdom. This also fulfills the words of Isaiah Isa. 61: 1 (1-2) 1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; Show more Show less
