Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a first generation Mormon from Alabama.

About Me

I love my Savior Jesus Christ! I have a wonderful wife and 4 wonderful children on this side of the veil and 2 waiting for us on the other side of the veil. My favorite hobby is working on cars. I helped my son customize his 95 Honda Civic hatchback and I am in the process of customizing my 93 Toyota Pickup. I love to research my family history and try to fill in any missing branches of my family tree when I have some free time. I work in the Information Technology field and love playing with the latest technology! I take time during the week to go to the gym to try and stay in shape so that I can enjoy a better quality of life. I try to do at least 1 Triathalon each year with my oldest children. We always have a blast together!!

Why I am a Mormon

I met my wonderful wife who introduced me to the Church. When we were first engaged I was a less active Baptist and she was a less active Latter-day Saint (Mormon). I kept meeting with the missionaries and finally met with a missionary who had dated my fiancés sister while they were both at BYU. They both left on a mission (he came to our area) and they continued writing one another. Her sister said to find me and baptize me. That is what happened. He challenged me to pick a date to be baptized and I did. He was leaving that week and proposed it for the last day of his mission. That was the date. It was the 27th of June, the same date as the martyrdom of the Prophet Joseph Smith. We were married in a civil ceremony by the Bishop a few months later and went to be sealed for time and all eternity a year and a half after I joined the church and were sealed to our brand new baby boy in the Dallas Temple. My life has never been the same since joining the Church. My baptism and marriage were the two most important decisions I have ever made.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by gathering my family every day for prayer and scripture study. I have a picture of the Savior on my desk at work next to a picture of my family that helps me focus on what is important. Also on occation some guys may be near my desk and let out a curse word and on more than one occation they have appoligized because they see the picture of the Savior. I don't have to say a word as their conscience works on them.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

I think of Elder Oaks who said "And young women, please understand that if you dress immodestly, you are magnifying this problem by becoming pornography to some of the men who see you." Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Families can be together forever. I have put together a website that more fully shares my feelings about families. Feel free to visit at the following link http://www.familiesr4ever.com/ Show more Show less
