Hi I'm Skyeler E. Lucero
I'm a husband, an aspiring filmmaker, a kid at heart...and I am a Mormon.
About Me
I have been a member of the Church since I was baptized at eight years old. I love my wife and all of my family. I am a college student with aspirations of becoming a film maker. I had the incredible opportunity to serve a full-time mission in Mexico. I will never forget it, nor the wonderful people that I miss and think about everyday. My beautiful wife and I can't wait to start a family and experience the purpose of this life. I like to sing and play guitar. I like to draw and paint with water color. I like to build props and set for stage and film. I like acting and film making in general. I like video games, movies and good music. I like Mexican, Italian, and Chinese food.
Why I am a Mormon
I was baptized at age eight. I was born into a struggling Mormon family. We were quite dysfunctional. As I grew I experienced many ups and downs with family, friends, and moving every couple of years or less. When I look back at all the family fights and other trials in my life, I always seem to recall something or Someone helping me along the way. I could have gone many different directions and become a completely different person, but my simple faith in Jesus Christ and the little knowledge I had about His Church and the Gospel were things that kept me tethered to the "track". I say again, I am not perfect. But, I know that through Jesus Christ and His Gospel I can be made perfect. His Church has been restored and is guided by Him through modern day prophets. This Church is true and that's why I am a Mormon
How I live my faith
Nobody is perfect. I am far from it in fact. What keeps me from spiritual derailment is my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ among other things. I too, am bombarded with the world's temptations and the messages of what many call happiness. I know however that true happiness comes from God, and that as we strive to do His will we will feel and know where true happiness comes from. I have felt the difference as I have been in different places spiritually. I try to remember the times when I have been my best self, and the joy I experienced. It motivates me to not only find that again, but to be even better and experience that much more joy. Life is difficult. I will always revert back to my testimony for strength and the power to overcome weakness, and get through the difficult times with faith that things will turn out okay. Even if it is not the way I think that they should. I know the Lord has a hand in my life, and His will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven.
