Hi I'm James Miller

I'm a Husband, Father, Student, and business owner. I love diesel vehicles, alternative energy, and basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 37 year-old husband and father from Arkansas. I have three wonderful children (two from a prior marriage). I am currently a student studying Energy efficiency and sustainability. I sold my remodeling company in 2008 to stay home with my youngest son and return to college. I love playing basketball and hanging out with my family. I also love cars and diesel pickup trucks.

Why I am a Mormon

I first became interested in the church because of their claim that "Families can be together forever." I already had a relationship with Jesus Christ and with the Holy Spirit. Once I had studied the scriptures and learned about the Restored Gospel, I knew it was for me. It was still a very tough decision to join because my ex-wife and my extended family were all extremely opposed to my decision to join. It has been tough on my kids, but good for them in so many ways too. I don't regret it for a minute. I was 29 years old when I joined, and have been a member for just short of 10 years (as of this writing). I wouldn't change a thing!

How I live my faith

I try to exemplify Jesus and the life he lived. I am by no means perfect, but strive to live the most honorable way that I can. I attend church as often as possible, and serve my fellow man when I can. I have helped people to move, taken down huge trees that were going to fall on a house, and many other things that have been needed. These things bless my life more than those that receive the help (in my opinion, at least). I also have worked with the youth and the Boy Scouts of America troop in my congregation. The first time I ever went camping was with a group of boys that had way more experience than I did, so I got to learn from them too. Several of the boys I have taught over the last few years have gone on to serve missions for the church. That is a great feeling, knowing that in some small way I have helped spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
