Hi I'm Devin

I'm a graduate student studying transportation engineering, husband, father of one & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married to a beautiful Queen and recently added a Princess to our home! I love to swim and to play outside (rock climbing, hiking, etc.). My wife and I enjoy a plethora of activities, including walking, the theater, movies, cooking together, hanging out with friends, boardgames, ballet, hiking, and reading. My passion is transportation. I love seeing how things move around the world and thinking of ways to make people and goods get to their destinations in a more safe and efficient manner.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Jesus is the Christ because I've seen miracles in my life and have felt his help in delivering me from temptation and sin. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I've prayed to know if it is right and have received an answer from the Holy Spirit telling me that it is right. I'm a Mormon because this church is Christ's church, it is in every way the church that Christ established when on the earth, with prophets and apostles, evangelists, bishops, teachers, and of course students of the gospel. I feel good when I pray, when I read the scriptures and when I help others. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I'm trying to be like Jesus in all that I do and say. I read the holy scriptures everyday and try to pray always and do what the Savior did, help those in need of help. I love sharing smiles with others and giving encouraging words. In the church I work with the young men and help them plan activities to push them towards their Savior and to help them develop into men of God. I visit every month a few families in the neighborhood and try to encourage them to keep doing what is right and help them in anyway I can.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Tithing is used to build the kingdom of God on earth, quite literally. It pays for church meetinghouses, temples, hymn books, maintenance of facilities, printing materials and everything else that a kingdom would need! Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes! We Love Christ and strive to follow His teachings. Everything we do is in His name. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The atonement is the answer to the fall of Adam, it puts everything back together, us with God because we can now repent and be clean and be in His presence after this life, and our spirits with our bodies after we die and are resurrected. Christ had to resurrect to accomplish the victory over death, so that we all could too! Show more Show less
