Hi I'm Charles Hancock

I love the Lord - in Him my soul delights.

About Me

Hey all, my name is Charles but I go by Chuck. I've been Mormon my whole life and really it's made me into the man really just a big boy that I am right now. I was married on May 29th, 2010 and adjusting to married life has been wonderful. I love my wife and we were able to be sealed in an LDS temple for time and all eternity - we organized our own family that will be part of us into the eternities . My wife and I are both in college and love every minute of it. I am studying public relations because I love people and I feel it is a great preparation for law school. I hope you will find peace and joy as you come to try and understand the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were both faithful Mormons and for a long time that was enough motivations to follow the 'traditions of my fathers' and be Mormon too. But when I was sixteen this girl that I really liked (now my wife :) ) decided to find out why I was Mormon. So, I took her to meet the LDS missionaries, during that initial visit we both felt the Spirit to a degree I had never felt before. She shortly joined the church and my own testimony began to develop. The church gives me direction in my life, a community of like-minded christians who give their lives to Christ with whom I can socialize freely and a peace and comfort beyond any explanation of where I've come from and how I should live my life here on earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by talking openly to anyone about my beliefs and attending my church meanings regularly. My new wife and I have loved the bond that has developed as we've begun to pray together! I am also a teacher to new missionaries, particularly the ones called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in Fiji because that's where I went and I get to teach them Fijian!

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Charles Hancock
I love this question because it is one of the most sublime and peaceful/comforting doctrines of the Church. Husband and wife are equally yoked in the family, yes they might have specific responsibilities but the couple always makes decisions together and raises their children together in righteousness. We are old fashioned in believing that more often than not the woman is the prime nurturer (being with the kids) because those are God-given gifts and the husband is the primary provider because that's how the Lord designed it. I know that nothing can replace a mother who raises her children in the home, nothing. Show more Show less
