Hi I'm James

I hunt for fossils and bones. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I, my wife of 20 years, and our three teenage children are fossil hunters. We enjoy the outdoors and searching for evidence of past life. It is a thrill to uncover the fossilized remains of an organism that nobody else has ever seen and to imagine what life was like for that plant or animal so many years before. This earth on which we live fills me with a sense of awe and reverence. These interests led me to formal study and a PhD in the life sciences. Although, as much as I love the creation, I love the Creator even more.

Why I am a Mormon

I have experienced the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. His mercy and power are abundantly and completely manifest in His church. Modern-day prophets and apostles and new scripture confirm the truth of the Bible: that God is our Father and that Jesus is the Savior of the world. These additional witnesses assure me that the Lord still reigns, that our welfare is His chief concern, and that we can have real joy in this life. These blessings are to be found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I was a missionary and taught the Gospel in Hungary for two years. Since my return, most of my church service has likewise been focused on teaching the good news of the Restored Gospel and inviting others to come to Christ. One of the great joys of membership in the church is the close association with good, good people. I share bonds of loving friendship with people on both sides of the planet.
