Hi I'm Mitchel Allen H.

I'm a Mormon i.e. I'm a human who is part of the LDS church.

About Me

I live in Southern California with my wife and daughter. I work as an embedded software engineer. My hobbies and interests include music, soccer, electronics, Linux, and microcontrollers. However, my number one favorite thing in this world is my little family: my sweet wife to whom I've been married since 2008 and my sweet little daughter. They are amazing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family which I'm so grateful for. However, I can't say I was fully "converted" to the church until I was about 18 years old. I always went to church and everything but just wasn't sure if I really believed it all deep down inside. However, when I turned 18 I started contemplating the possibility of serving a 2 year full-time service mission for the church. I really didn't want to give up 2 years of the prime of my life to go preach something I didn't really believe in so I started reading the Book of Mormon and praying to know that it was true. It's sad that it took me 18 years to do that because after a few months of serious study and prayer I was blessed with an undeniable witness from the Holy Ghost that that book was true. That experience was the motivating factor for me going on a mission and really coming to know for myself that the church is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that's how I know that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, and that this is His church on the earth today. And that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. I have been an organist in my ward and I like to play it extra loud. I also try to bring a positive light into the lives of those around me just by being a positive person and encouraging uplifting discussion.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Mitchel Allen H.
The Book of Mormon is actually a collection of writings from many different people, all of them prophets of God, much like the Bible. Those prophets lived in the ancient Americas. The name comes from a prophet named Mormon who compiled all the records together. It was later translated to English by Joseph Smith (he didn't write it). Show more Show less
