Hi I'm David

About Me

I was born and raised in Southern California and am the 5th of 8 children. I am currently a university student studying electrical engineering with a minor in Spanish. I enjoy doing a wide range of things. I have completed 2 full marathons and love to run. I really enjoy breakdancing and anything hip hop. I love to play the trumpet and have participated in my university symphonic band. Other activities I enjoy are juggling, solving Rubik's cubes, singing, drawing, hiking, and the list goes on.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to be taught the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ while growing up. I continue to live the gospel today because it brings me so much joy and happiness. I have seen how the gospel has blessed me and my family throughout my life. The more I learn about other churches as well as this church the more my faith is confirmed that this is Christ's restored church. Every time I read the Book of Mormon I feel the Spirit and an increased desire to do good. I now that it contains God's words for us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to say personal prayers and studying the scriptures each day. I am assigned and have the privilege to visit several members of my church at least once a month and discuss gospel principles with them and help them with their needs. I look for opportunities to serve wherever I can. As a member of the church I feel the obligation to try to do as Christ would do and help those around me.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was a man just like any other with his own shortcomings, but he sought God out with all his heart and went to Him in prayer to know which church he should join. Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. He was called to be a prophet, an instrument in the hands of God similar to Noah, Abraham, or Moses. Through Joseph, Christ's church was restored to the earth in its entirety including the priesthood authority necessary to perform saving ordinances and become forever families. Show more Show less
