Hi I'm Anna

I'm studying elementary education and Chinese. I like to make other people happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Anna! I am currently studying elementary education. My hobbies include reading, eating ice cream, learning Mandarin, and spending time with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are life-long members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but my decision to continue practicing Mormonism was my own. Through the hardest times of my life, I have found strength and hope through The Book of Mormon. I am a Mormon because I believe that Jesus Christ has indeed authorized His church to exist on the earth again. I am a Mormon because I love God.

How I live my faith

I go to church every week and read from the Book of Mormon and/or Bible every day. I also have the responsibility to look out for two other women from the Church who live near me as part of a program called visiting teaching. I live my faith by trying to become more like Jesus Christ.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women been the object of much stereotyping, but as a young Mormon woman myself I can say that Mormons absolutely believe in equality of men and women. We believe that gender is an "essential characteristic" of who we are. Men and women are different, each with divine, complementary roles. A lot of Mormon women don't work outside the home, but concentrate on raising their children and creating a positive home environment. A lot of Mormon women do contribute to the workforce. Mormons value marriage, but not all Mormon women are married. Mormon women live in every country (not just Utah!) and have their own life goals and interests. Church leaders often speak of the divine and noble role of womanhood. Show more Show less

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is a world-wide organization for Latter-day Saint women. We meet just about every Sunday for a spiritual lesson. Relief Societies also hold regular weekday meetings with guest speakers, service projects, or classes on anything from sewing to scriptures. The motto of Relief Society is "Charity Never Faileth."
