Hi I'm Mike

I'm a small-town Idaho kid living in a Boston suburb. I'm a husband, marketer, drummer, DJ, and a Mormon.

About Me

I love good music, and there is a lot of it out there. I do everything to experience it, DJ'ing, drumming, playing guitar, listening, and going to concerts. A friend and I even run a website that predicts up-and-coming songs. When I was 25, I first met my wife, Amber, at lunch with some friends. I pulled up on an electric scooter and introduced myself as a computer nerd... apparently not the best way to impress a girl. I was immediately attracted to her so after a few months of persisting, she agreed to go out on our first date. Since then we've become best friends and love experiencing life together. We like exploring new towns, trying out new foods, and spending time with family and friends. I was raised in a small 200-person Idaho town where I became known as the city's computer repair kid. I studied information systems and worked for 3 years as an IT product manager but was always intrigued by what was going on in the marketing department, so I went back to school and recently graduated with an MBA. Now I'm in my dream job, doing marketing for a large technology company.

How I live my faith

Religion is a large part of my life. I currently work in our congregation to ensure the spiritual and temporal well-being of over 50 families. We do this by coordinating monthly visits to each family, weekly lessons in church, and activities and events to bring us closer as friends. Every day is filled up with thousands of opportunities to choose. Who we are and what we can become is contingent on each of those choices. I love that the gospel of Jesus Christ gives us guidance in making those choices. The promises and blessings of God give me hope and confidence that if things are hard, I know where I can turn to make it through and if I don't know what to do, I can find an answer.
