Hi I'm Solomon

I am a disciple of Jesus Christ and son of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.. Called to testify in this time.

About Me

I love my life and feel blessed to have a great family. I'm married and love being a dad to our 5 boys Brandon and Jordan (both passed away after living only 2 days in 2001), Tyler, Riley, and Justin (all adopted). I'm 40 years old - I love the outdoors, sports, news, gadgets and spending time with our boys, friends, and a little down time at the gym, movies, golf, or riding bikes.

Why I am a Mormon

I've had my own personal experiences with God to confirm truth along my path. My conversion has come over time with multiple events. When I was 14 years old I heard a voice and felt a powerful feeling of love from God. All the voice said was "I love you." I knew God was real and I knew he knew me. The gospel of Jesus Christ and the truth I have found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has brought me closer to God and made me a better man. I was born a Mormon but being a Mormon to me is a tool to help me build a personal relationship with God and add upon the truths of Christ's teachings while he was here on earth. I believe the the ordinances and authority of God reside in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and God will be just and fair to all members of the human family. I know there are truths in a lot of different places and religions. The truths I have found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have brought me peace and comfort during hard times in my life - from the death of family members or the death of our twin boys - to the struggles in relationships and family life... God has been there and has lead me along the way as I have been willing to turn to him and use the atonement he provided with our Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

After finding God myself and receiving of his forgiveness I feel it is ones responsibility to pass it on to others. I live my life by example and I believe it is the best way to invite people to Christ. My family is my first priority and I have a wonderful spouse and 3 young boys. I love being a dad and look for ways to teach them values, morals and integrity. Life is not easy at times. To be honest it is down right difficult at times. Living the gospel principles and standards God has set is true safety and allows me to lay my head on my pillow with less fear, resentment, worries, and pain. When I was younger I had some great mentors who cared about me and as such I want to do the same for others - especially the youth. I mentor the youth in my area by letting them know I really care about them, teaching them gospel principles, warning them about potential hazards from bad choices and just being there if they choose. I currently serve as a Gospel Doctrine teacher in my local congregation. I love to teach them the things that matter most to me and living a life with a heart at peace and focused on God.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Some Mormons DO drink coffee, tea, alcohol or do illegal drugs. Not all Mormons are living and making the same choices. Some Mormons struggle with addictive behaviors and substances just like some Baptists, Catholics, or Jews struggle. God blesses those of us who make good choices pertaining to the things we take into our bodies and he also allows natural consequences to come to those who don't. The Word of Wisdom or law of health that Mormons in general try to live by was given to us as a warning against such bad choices and a promise to those who live the law of health. These same blessings and natural consequences are there for Mormons and Non-Mormons alike. It is true to receive some of the greater blessings God provides, one must be willing to live the law of health known as the Word of Wisdom. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

By hearing or reading the word of God whether that is through the bible and scriptures, hearing a prophet speak truth or having the Holy Ghost teach us directly. As we obey the truth we have received our faith is increased. Show more Show less
