Hi I'm Joseph

I'm a small business entrepreneur.

About Me

I consider myself a flawed but lovable child of God. I'm also a student and a philosopher. I know that God has all the answers, so I enjoy asking the questions whenever life presents them. I've never quite been able to figure out how to juggle four balls. I speak Czech as a second language and love the fact that I can take notes in most any meeting and be confident that no one could read them if they tried. Ever since I was 15, I've been a small business owner. I've washed windows, and fixed computers and in the future I hope to be employed as an independent a graphic artist. I enjoy seeing what for me is the 'big picture' in the business world meaning that I sell, provide, bill for and am responsible for what I do. If I do one of these badly it affects the rest. On clear days when it's not to hot I'll sometimes take my brother, sister, and some foam padded weaponry and we'll sword fight for a few hours.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the LDS church but never really got into religion until I realized how closely it tied to my education, and my character. I realized over time how much of an influence religion had on who I wanted to be as a person. I've attended public, charter, private and home schools. These gave me the foundation of the education that I have been building for myself ever since. In these settings I've discussed different philosophies and beliefs. The thought used to come to me often: 'how do you know that your religion is right, if you haven't tried theirs?' My answer came years after first encountering this dilemma as a feeling of absolute peace and knowledge that God has a plan for me, that He loves me, and that I am exactly where He wants me. This has led me to conclude, that life is too short to test every possibility, so God has provided a way to know the truth when we ask Him.

How I live my faith

It was only after I dedicated everything I had, believing that it was right, that I knew I had made the right choice. To point, as I've continued though life I've repeatedly felt these things to be significant: "Remember, to Make Every Moment a Reflection of Christ" "Think like a man of action, act like a man of thought" - Henri Bergson "Keep your eye on the ball" - Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin "It's about people, not things"

What is faith?

Joseph
If you had never seen or heard of a light switch before. It would mean nothing to you when you saw it on the wall, if anything you would be curious as to what it was. And if your friend tells you that flicking that switch will cause light to come into the room, faith is believing him enough to flick the switch. Faith is acting on what you believe to be true. You don't know how the lightswitch does that, just that it does. The how comes after you study electronics. Faith in God is doing what He tells us, even though we don't know how. Show more Show less
