Hi I'm Megan

About Me

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend. I have an undergraduate degree in Recreation Management and Youth Leadership with a Nonprofit minor. I love to read, play piano, sing, dance, crochet, go camping, and bake. I love learning how to do new things. I played volleyball and did a season of track in high school and I was in several plays and the madrigal choir. I sing in the Millennial Choir in Utah. I am lucky enough to be an at home mom and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family. In fact, I have ancestors that crossed the plains into Utah. I grew up being taught in the Mormon faith. When I was eight years old I decided that I wanted to be baptized. I continue to follow and live the gospel of Jesus Christ today because my experiences have proven to me that this is the way to live a truly happy life. The gospel makes sense and the commandments are for our good. I also know that after this life I want to end up in Heaven and the Mormon faith teaches you the steps to get there. Not only does the Mormon faith teach you how to be worthy to go to Heaven, but it teaches you how you can be with your family for forever. I want to be with my family for forever, "until death do us part" is not good enough for me and is not what I want. I don't want to be separated from my sweet husband at death-no! I want to be with him forever and with my children, parents, siblings, etc. This is the biggest motivator for me to choose to keep the commandments diligently throughout my life aside from my desire to return to God whom I consider to be my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

Right now I am in charge of the compassionate service in the ward. We bring meals to the new mothers and the sick, care for the sick, help people during moves, and serve in any way we can. I also go with a friend to visit three sisters in our congregation each month to see how they are doing and share a short spiritual message with them. I have also served as a teacher for the children ages 18 months-11 years and the young women ages 16-18 and I enjoyed these callings so much. I love working with youth. I have often been a musical conductor in the congregations I have attended. I have also participated as an event planner and teacher for the women in the congregation. I also really enjoy working on genealogy and learning more about my family members.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Megan
Mormon missionaries proselyte because they love the gospel of Jesus Christ and want to share it with any who will hear their message so that others can experience and feel the same joy that they have in their life. We are commanded to do missionary work because God cannot do it all by Himself. He works through people and we in turn learn from our missionary experiences and find joy in it. Show more Show less
