Hi I'm Howard

I'm a computer programmer, a family history instructor, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in California and grew up in Sacramento. I've spent over 25 years in Law Enforcement at City, County, State and Federal Levels serving a number of them as the Chief of Police of a small Nebraska city. I now am a retired computer programmer who worked for the State of Nebraska for another 20 years. I married my sweetheart in the Oakland, California Temple in 1969. My wife and I had 5 children and they now have given us 16 grandchildren which are our love and delight. I have a strong hobby of photography, computers and family history and will help anyone that is looking to extend their lines beyond where they are. I have several callings in the church including a Family History Consultant, a FamilySearch Service Missionary, I'm the Assistant Director of the local Family History Center, I teach Family History Sunday School class and I'm a Winter Quarter's Temple Ordinance Worker. I love the Lord Jesus Christ and have now been in the church for over 45 years.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I was raised in another faith and went to a church school for eight years and had a lot of questions that could not be answered in my old church. When I heard the restored gospel of Jesus Christ I knew it was true because it answered ALL of my questions. Give it a try and see if you can ask a gospel question that your Mormon friends can't answer. If they can't - they certainly know someone that can!

How I live my faith

My wife and I pray and read the scriptures daily. We work in our callings in the church at least twice a week if not a lot more. We love the people who are our friends in the church.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Howard
After 25 years in law enforcement, I appreciate authority. If someone gave you a ticket for speeding but had no authority, wouldn't you just laugh. I can trace my authority back to Jesus Christ and that means something to me and to anyone I perform religious ordinances for such as baptism. If you were baptized by someone who can't show you by what authority they are performing that ordinance, then it is important to find someone that has that authority. That is the only way this saving ordinance can work. Show more Show less
