Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in Sacramento California, I love my family and technology gadgets, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father to a wonderful wife and two wonderful daughters. I work for the State of California, and enjoy my work and coworkers. I enjoy to read about and study new gadgets, particularly phones, computers, tablets, and gaming systems; though I try to be a budget shopper, so I don't own many. I served a mission to Sao Paulo Brazil and loved the people I served and the culture. It was especially fulfilling to serve the Lord and testify of Him to the Brazilian people and see their love for the Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon because I was born in a loving family to two wonderful parents who were Mormon, and who loved the Savior. They taught me of Jesus and of how His church had been restored. Many of these teachings did not sink into my heart at the time though, but as time has passed I have appreciated them more and more. When I was 15 years old, I had the opportunity to go to a youth camp that the LDS church hosts and their colleges called Especially For Youth. On this week long camp I heard inspiring messages, enjoyed the company of youth like myself trying to find their spiritual path, and felt powerfully the comfort and fire of the Holy Spirit. Upon returning home, these feelings started to fade and I longed to keep them. So, for the first time in my life I started to read the scriptures on my own and to pray on my own on a daily basis. I read the Book of Mormon and it drew me closer to the Savior. The Holy Ghost became a companion of mine, and though the feelings were not as strong they were real and they softened my heart and I believed the words I read but more importantly I started to live them. These beliefs I grew and the changes in behavior I lived had a life changing impact on me. Life long friends of my parents noticed the remarkable changes in me and commented on them. I was more confident, out going, and started making lots of friends. The friends that I made were not from the popular crowd in school, but they were people like me trying to do their best and their friendships strengthened my faith even more. I am a Mormon because I know that there is more to this life then the world would want you to believe. I feel it in the middle of my heart that we have been sent to this earth for a purpose, and we were not left without a road back home. We are here to learn, to grow, and to develop families. The Savior lead the way and left his Church to continue to guide us. He answers prayers, and He will come again and we can live with Him also. He loves us.

How I live my faith

I love to be active in my church congregation and I enjoy volunteering to help where needed, even if that means continuously setting up and taking down chairs for meetings or helping people load moving trucks.
