Hi I'm Richard (Rick) Youngblood

I was born and raised in the Southern United States, I think people are amazing and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

A Husband. A Dad. A Son. A Friend. A Ponderer. I am Contemplative. I am Inquisitive. I am Reserved. I am Organized. I Enjoy reading. I Love to be around family and friends and just watch people have fun. I love to run and see the sunrise each day. I work in healthcare and teach international business at the University level as a great form of relaxation.

Why I am a Mormon

It is who I am. I grew up in a part of the United States where being Mormon was not the norm. But people always want to know why I act the way I do. I love being able to explain why I am different and thoroughly enjoy living what I believe. Being Mormon makes me a better Husband, Dad, Son, and of course Grandfather! I was born a member of the Church yet it was when I truly desired to know if what I had been taught was really true and then prayed to my Heavenly Father to know for myself, that I KNEW it was the true church on the earth. It all came together and I did not need to look back.

How I live my faith

People often say, "their is something different about you". (Well that is probably true if you ask my children since they think I am clearly different :-)) But seriously, after all the joking is done I take that as one of the greatest compliments I could ever be given. Every day I try and remind myself that I need to really try to be more caring, more faithful, more honest, and more attune to others by responding to promptings to reach out and by also getting involved in my community. I attend Church every week and renew personal promises that I made with God when I was baptized. Some of those personal promises focus on how important it is to remember Jesus Christ and to keep God's commandments. I have the opportunity to work with all ages at Church and to feel their love for the Savior. This strengthens me and helps me strive to be more like Him. I truly believe that our actions speak louder than words, so even though I am far from perfect in my life, I am striving through daily repentance to do what is right. I am so grateful for the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for all mankind. I am recognizing each day that it is through His loving sacrifice that I am provided the way to be made whole and happy. That is awesome!

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Richard (Rick) Youngblood
When I was very young I remember seeing a poster in the school cafeteria that stated "You are what you eat". That always stuck with me and I was more careful about the things I ate. Along those same lines I have seen that "you are what you surround yourself with". Some very wise people in my life gave me and my family some great counsel in how we can stop this terrible plaque called pornography 1. Limit the amount time you watch media of any kind. 2. Don't have TV's or computer's in private places. 3. Spend QUALITY TIME with good friends and family. 4. Use filters on computers. 5. Hold family meetings and set media standards for the family. 6. Make Good Media Choices 7. Speak out!  Show more Show less

Who are the Mormons?

Richard (Rick) Youngblood
They are people that care about their community. They are people that are involved and work hard to leave behind a legacy of faith and good. They are people that believe in Jesus Christ and that He is the Son of God. They love the Bible and other sacred books of scripture such as the Book of Mormon which gives additional strength and confirmation that Jesus Christ lives and loves us. They love to serve. They are your neighbors just like me.  Show more Show less
