Hi I'm Sarah Lynn

I am a wife and a mother. I born in raised in Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have been married for almost three years, last year we had our son join our family and he is our pride and joy. I love taking pictures of my family and nature. I enjoy playing sports (especially Volleyball and Basketball). I love the thrill of trying out new recipes and creating recipes of my own. I graduated two years ago with my Bachelors in Political Science.

Why I am a Mormon

My membership to the Church of Jesus Christ gives me the strength and encouragement to wake up everyday and try to do my best. I have been a member my whole life, but it wasn't until I was in high school that I realized how important the blessings of the gospel were to me. I lost friends and family members to death and the knowledge that if I lived a righteous life and endured to the end gave me the strength and encouragement to make it through my feelings of hurt and loss. Now, I am a mother and a wife and the most important people to me are my husband and son. I would never want to be separated from them. The covenants which I have made in the temple, give me the promise than I will get to stay with my family for the eternities. I feel so blessed to know that I have a Savior that atoned for my sins and sorrows. As I have experienced trials I have felt the Savior's love for me and his guiding hand to help guide me to answers.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live as Christ would have me do. I try to treat people that I come in contact with the love and respect that a Child of God deserves. I try to help others by taking people in need meals or provide other necessary service. From this I have learned that often times the giver gets a much greater reward then the receiver. I have several different responsibilities in our church, everything for caring for the children while their parents were in Sunday School to informing people in our congregation of the activities and announcements. But each one of them has served an important purpose of sharing the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Sarah Lynn
Our temples are where we make sacred covenants that bind our families together in eternal units. The Lord's promise to us that we will have an eternal family is based on our worthiness in keeping his commandments and living the covenants that we have made. I remember when I was a little girl going to the Open house for one of the temples. I remember knowing that I had entered a sacred place and thinking that the temple was the most beautiful place I had ever seen. The guide took us into the sealing room where couples and families are sealed together. Inside the sealing room there were a set of mirrors that faced each other when you looked into one you would see your reflection continue infinitely. As I have made covenants in the temple I realized the the temples are a place we receive instruction on how our Heavenly Father would have us live so that one day we might live with him again. What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Sarah Lynn
The role of husband and the wife are equal partners. Right now my husband is going to school and I am working and we are both caring for our Son. The doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ is that husband and wife should treat each other with respect and love, and that we should look for activities that will help us strengthen our relationship with one another. My husband and I try to go on dates once a week. We take turns planning these dates and look for activities will have an opportunity to talk about our experiences and plan for the future. We also study the scriptures together at night. This gives us an opportunity to discuss what Heavenly Father would have us do. Show more Show less
