Hi I'm Anthony
I grew up in Tacoma, WA. I am an urban planner. I'm Samoan and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
My father is from Samoa and my mother is from Seattle. I grew up in Tacoma, Washington. I am the oldest of 6 kids, 5 boys and 1 girl. I am married to the sweetest woman in the world and we have 3 precious girls. I enjoy watching and playing most sports, including basketball, pickleball, volleyball and rugby. I love spending time outdoors, especially camping, canoeing and hiking.
Why I am a Mormon
I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Although I was born into the church and have been a member since I was baptized when I was 8 years old, I had to choose for myself what I did and did not believe as I got older. What has impresses me the most about the gospel is that ultimately, we are challenged to gain a personal testimony of its truthfulness. No matter what I read in the scriptures, or what the prophet teaches, we are admonished to gain personal testimony of its truthfulness. That personal testimony comes from God through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. I gained my testimony through study and prayer and through personal witness from the Holy Spirit I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ, as taught by the Church, is true. Through this same witness I know that God has called living prophets in our day, the same as in the Bible. Because of this witness, I know that God lives, knows me, and answers my prayers and that I can go to him with any questions or to seek guidance and he will answer me.
How I live my faith
I work with the young men in at church, specifically the 12 and 13 year olds. I teach them on Sunday and also act as the Assistant Scout Master in our troop. Through this I have lots of opportunities to act as an example of the gospel and encourage them to live the gospel and follow the example of Jesus.
