Hi I'm Evan

I'm a soccer coach, scout leader, web developer. I'm a dad and a husband. I live in Atlanta, Georgia and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of 2. I try my best at everything and I want to help make the world a better place. I am an Eagle Scout and a Scout Leader in my local troop. I strive to provide for my family as a web designer. I see the internet and technology as a great opportunity for communication and collaboration to connect the world. I love the great outdoors, soccer, music and art.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church, but growing up I really didn't understand it at all. As I was nearing the end of high school, I understood that I really needed to figure out what the big deal about church was, I'd been raised to do the right thing and agreed with the morals of the church even, but going to church had never come easy. It was about then that my dad says to me, "Well, do you think it's important to know if it really is all true?" and I realized that if it is true, knowing about it would be the most important thing I could do in this life. So I studied the gospel as presented by the church. I pondered the scriptures and prayed. After weeks of study I really came to love the good news of the gospel and to understand that without it in my life I'd feel a great void. As an added bonus, late one night after reading I knelt beside my bed and prayed. Eventually, I really felt a presence in my room and even though the room was mostly dark, I could feel a brightness. I was filled with joy as I realized that the Holy Ghost was bearing witness to me of my Heavenly Father's love for me. I wept with joy and decided then that I would live my life in accordance with His Gospel. I didn't do it for the promise of reward, but only for the love that He has for me and that I have in return for Him.

How I live my faith

Recounted in the Book of Mormon is a dream of a prophet named Lehi. He saw a tree and tasted it's fruit and received intense joy. The first thing he wanted to do when he tasted it, was share it with his family. I really have tasted the joy of the Gospel and desperately want to share it. I served a mission in Belgium and France for two years sharing the Gospel. Since returning home, I have been serving in local congregations. I've helped plan activities in my branch and then ward. I've accepted callings to teach sunday school classes for both adults and children, be a scout leader. But most of all I try to uplift those around me.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Discussing Christ with Mormon missionaries may be one of the best choices you ever make. These young men and women give two years of their life with no pay (actually they usually pay their own way) to bring the light and truth of the Gospel to others. They would love to talk with you in your home and would take the opportunity to explain the plain and precious Gospel of Jesus Christ. They would explain that Christ really did come to save us from sin and death and that he accomplished his mission and really was resurrected! They will explain the steps to take to follow Him and share His Word with you and your family. Show more Show less
