Hi I'm Kasia

I love to travel, meet new people, try new foods, and be outside. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a PhD Student studying contemporary German-Tongan diaspora. I love to be active--hiking, biking, running, working out--and to meet new people. I love to cook for people--if I could have the whole world over for a Sunday dinner, I would! I come from a large family and am extra lucky to be part of an adopted family as well. I love all of my siblings and parents. I also love healthy food, planning and taking long trips, and being nerdy about research. Oh yeah, and I'm 6'3". :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it is the true church! The Gospel brings so much peace and so much happiness! I know for myself that Joseph Smith was a righteous man, and a true Prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that the through him the fullness of the Gospel was restored to this earth, and that the Lord continues to inspire and lead his people today, in this dispensation, through a living prophet. I have been through a lot of hard times in life, but I have learned that the truth of the Gospel illuminates every dark place. I have literally felt the loving arms of my Heavenly Father wrap around me in some of my hardest experiences, and I know I am never alone.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending my church meetings, serving in church callings and as a visiting teacher, and simply by trying to follow the Spirit every day. I am a Temple patron, and there is nowhere I would rather be than in the Temple! I love that place with all my heart. I try to be a good student of the scriptures, and I currently teach Institute which allows me to really get involved in the topics I teach. I absolutely love family history and feel passionately about the name and heritage of my faithful predecessors, upon whose shoulders I try to stand. I don't understand everything, but I know my Father and Savior live, and that they love me. I know the Gospel is true because I have asked in prayer and received a witness many times. My testimony is also strengthened as I simply try to live the Gospel each day; acting in faith brings an even stronger witness. I am a missionary everyday! I am doing all that I can to work with my leaders, fellow members, and my Father in Heaven to help hasten His righteous work. My greatest love is to work with the youth--I currently serve in the Young Women's, and there is nothing I love more than watching the youth of the church as they gain their own testimonies. The future is so bright!
