Hi I'm Aaron

I'm a husband, I create instructional media, and I'm a Mormon - a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

Ever heard of Instructional Technology? Neither had I until about a year before I started a Master's degree in that very program. I now create immersive learning experiences at the LDS Church's visitors' centers and historic sites. Great career thus far! Something unique about me is that I was 35 and a half when I married my wife, Brooke. For some reason I never felt completely ready to marry until I met her. One other item about me that stands out is that I'm a dual citizen of Canada and Germany. We're thinking that at some point we'll move to Europe for a year or so but no concrete plans are in place just yet.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the LDS faith but I was 18 when I experienced a rebirth. Born again, baby! I had lots of friends who were Lutheran where I attended their Sunday services and youth activities. A change of heart took place in me when I began reading The Book of Mormon on my own and over the course of a few months, little by little, I felt a new spirit enter my life. I chose to follow those spiritual impressions and am so glad I did!

How I live my faith

Honesty is the way to go. Nothing's more difficult than covering one's tracks! The truth shall make you free.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

My mom died of brain cancer about seven years ago - this was after more than ten years of sickness and treatments. There is life after death because I have felt my Mom's presence many times. She watches over me. People who die experience a parting of ways between the body and the spirit. This is what happened to Jesus when he died - his spirit and body parted from each other for three days, and then he was resurrected when his spirit and body were brought together again. My mom will also be resurrected one day; so will every person who has ever lived on this earth. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

First of all, my wife is my companion. The word itself denotes equality, and this is how marriage is designed. But my wife and I carry out our own tasks and are responsible for different things around the house and yard. In the LDS faith, the women are equal to the men in every way (if not, superior!), and this is how the church was designed. The men and women of the church carry out different tasks to care for the needy and to look out for the well-being of others. Show more Show less
