Hi I'm Dan

I grew up in Wyoming. I joined the church when I was 21.

About Me

I'm married with 4 kids (2 girls, 2 boys). I like to watch college football and basketball. I love to play golf and am getting into running. My family is the most important thing in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I joined the church in my early 20's, I have only been actively attending since I was 31. After watching my brother in law bless my oldest child, I realized what my choices were costing me in terms of an eternal relationship with my wife and children. The teachings of Jesus Christ have brought a tremendous amount of peace and joy into my life. I have witnessed firstiand the blessings that we receive when we center our life around the Gospel. I also realized that you didn't have to be perfect to be Mormon - we all struggle in life. But being LDS has given me a better perspective about how to live my life in order to be happy.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life just a little bit better each day. The gospel of Jesus Christ can bring great happiness into our lives by helping us understand why we're here and how we can be together with those we love after this life.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

We believe that Joseph Smith, with divine assistance, received a history of people who lived in the Americas. This record was compiled into a book called the Book of Mormon (after one of the prophets who wrote part of the records). The Book of Mormon adds another testimony of Jesus Christ and gives greater insight into His teachings. Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

The first step would be to ask questions of a member you know. They can direct you to missionaries who will help to answer your questions. If you don't know any members, just call a local church and ask them to direct you to the missionaries in the area. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I truly believe that we are led by a living prophet. While growing up, I always wondered why there were prophets in biblical times, but no longer. It didn't make sense to me that Heavenly Father would not want us to have that same direction. Show more Show less
