Hi I'm Richard Grant

About Me

Well I'm a father and grandfather. I love history and if I could I would visit every Church historic place. I also love history of the military and the United States. I like to take pictures of just about anything. I am retired Military. I served 17 years active duty in the USAF and another 17 years in the Army Reserve and National Guard in Nevada, Arizona and California before retiring in 2003. I was Baptized into the Church while serving at Ubon Royal Thai Air Base in Thailand in 1968

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was stationed in Ubon Thailand. I worked as a Fire Dispatcher from 3 to 11 pm and at the Armed Forces Radio Station as a disc jockey from 12 am to 6 am. I man I relived is who got me into the Church. I would ask his if I could get him any coffee, tea or coke and he alway said no. When I asked him why he said it was a teaching in his church called the Word of Wisdom. When I asked him what church he said it was the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I said I never heard of it and then he asked me if I had heard of the Mormons and I told he sure. I was curious. I was a not practicing Catholic so he start teaching about the church. The things I was taught were so common since that I knew they was true. I was Baptized into the church in 1968 while over there. I know the Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God. No con man would have given his life for something he believed in if it was not true.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the commandments of our Heavenly Father and the President of the Church and all General Authorities as well as my Stake and Ward Leaders. I served a two year mission as a Family Home Storage Manager in California and currently a Family History Consultant in my Ward. I follow the Word of Wisdom try to always do a 24 hr. fast for Fast Sunday.
