Hi I'm Paulette

I am a great grandmother, a grandmother, a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a large family of thirteen. I have one biological daughter and two adopted children. I have three biological grandchildren and four biological great grandchildren. I am also the foster grandmother of many children in my family and my community. I am known as "Nana," to many in the community.I am retired from a large children's hospital in a small community program. I love the Gospel. My hobbies are photography and scrapbooking.

Why I am a Mormon

All my life I have been searching for the truth. As a child my mother sent me to church each Sunday. She did not care what church I went to just that I went to church. I wondered from church to church until I was thirteen then I became a Lutheran. I was a Lutheran for many years and then switched to Buddhism. As I studied I found that there seemed to be pieces missing. I spent a lot of time studying trying to put the pieces together. After a couple of years studying Buddhism I returned to the Lutheran church. Never getting to the truth. Then after many years the church I was attending closed. I visited church after church still not finding the missing pieces. Then one day my nine year old daughter came home excited asking to be baptized. She was being taught by the Elders who were teaching her friend's family. She told me the story of Joseph Smith. I began to research on the internet to find out what my granddaughter was getting herself into. As I researched on the internet, I began to receive a warm feeling each time I read something about Joseph Smith and the True Gospel. I began to take lessons from the Elders. I began to read the Book of Mormon and the pieces began to come together. Each time I read, I received that same warm feeling. I began to pray and received confirmation that this church is true. Those missing pieces were found. Since I was baptized, I have been so happy. In my heart I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It fills in the missing blanks that were always in my life. This True Gospel has filled the void.

How I live my faith

I read the scriptures each day and have daily prayer. I keep a picture of the Temples on my computer screen to remind me to keep the faith.Since I have been retired, I spend a lot of time on the computer talking to friends in many countries.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

We are all born in sin because we are not perfect. We have the ability to decide what we want to do. Because Heavenly Father loves us so much that he wanted to make sure that we would be able to return to him. So he sent His only son to take up our sins. Show more Show less
