Hi I'm Kerri

I'm a mormon mother of 4.

About Me

I am a mother of 4, college graduate, continual learner, lover of music, languages, and, of course, chocolate.

Why I am a Mormon

I've read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it. I have lived the doctrine taught by the church. I have felt change and growth in my life as I've done these things. I have found answers I have been looking for. I have felt God's love and have received my own answer through prayer and study that this church was restored as part of God's plan for his children, that He is the head of it and director of its work. I know that the doctrine and work is true. Living by the principles taught, I have grown closer to my Savior. I feel great joy in knowing that I can be with my Heavenly Father and my family here on Earth forever. I feel great comfort in knowing that death is not the end to all things.

How I live my faith

I have worked with the young children in the church for about three years, learning the doctrine of the church through music. I am a visiting teacher, which means that I visit with and help take care of a number of women that live in my area. I try to visit with my neighbors and friends about the church. Mostly though, I live my faith in my home; through having daily scripture study and family prayer with my husband and children and trying to have a weekly family night. We also attend the three-hour block of meetings every Sunday, where I renew my promises to try to live as Jesus did by taking the sacrament. My daughter is now old enough to participate in one of the youth activities that occurs twice a month during the week. I also try to live my faith through my own personal scripture study, prayer, and fasting.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

I love this question! Starting out my day with the scriptures gives me perspective and brightens my day. I can feel a difference when I start out reading my scriptures, verses when I don't. I find I am happier, more patient with my family, and even more energetic. Reading the Book of Mormon side by side with the Bible gives me further understanding about my Savior and his mission here on the Earth. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

It is counsel found in the Doctrine and Covenants (A book of revelations to the prophet Joseph Smith) that we believe is inspired that gives us direction to keep us physically healthy. This is where we get that we shouldn't drink coffee or smoke, along with some other things. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Absolutely! I believe that God takes an active interest in his children's lives and that didn't stop after the time of Moses. I believe that God wants his children to find him. God used prophets in olden times to lead his children and I believe he still does today. Show more Show less
